Mother Nature has the best box of crayons.

 Low growing and very cold tolerant, their stems grow mostly underground so just above the ground is a beautiful cupped flower. Enough of a stem that they can be used for personal floral , short arrangements or in foam.

  They bloom  end of February into March.

 Daffodils and Jonquils are different plants, but are both narcissus varieties. Daffodil flowers are typically lightly scented, while Jonquils have a strong fragrance. Jonquil flowers are always yellow, while daffodils can have different color combinations.  They can be cut before blooming and wrapped to delay opening. They bloom profusely from late March through mid-April.

   Lilac is known for its incredibly fragrant blossoms in white, violet, bluish, lilac, pinkish, magenta, and purple. We have several different varieties in a range from a lavender pink up through deep purple. If you're looking for a particular range of purple, kindly let us know. A classic bloom, they're an essential addition for a Mother's Day bouquet or arrangement. 

Blooms in April and May 

We grow a pink/white and a white/white. The name comes from the flower's inner petals, which appear to form a drop of blood at the bottom of the heart-shaped flower. They make beautiful Spring accent blooms in small arrangements, bouquets, boutonnieres and simple arrangements for the home. They bloom from April through May.

  The eastern bluestar flowers are powder blue and star-shaped, and grow in loose clusters at the top of the stems. The anthers are yellow-orange, and the flowers are sometimes partially hidden by the uppermost leaves. It's a beautiful pop of light blue in bouquets and personal floral, and a lovely addition to mid-size arrangements or as simple vase flowers for the home. 

Blooms in April and May 

 Coral Bells, also known as Heuchera, are a genus of semi-evergreen perennials.  The flowers are delicate bell-shaped, deep pink to coral red, and can be up to 1/2 inch long. Stems can be cut up to 18". Slightly sweet scent. Reminiscent of a colorful version of Lily of the Valley.

Blooms May through June. 

    Short stemmed but a beautiful Victorian classic.  Historically violets have been the symbol of love. Longest stems are usually 8" - 10". The blue variety is especially striking. A lovely detailed accent to a small detailed arrangement, in a small violet vase, bud vase or as a groomsmen's boutonniere.

They bloom March - August.

 Branches smothered in stunning clusters of fragrant fuchsia flowers emerge from distinctive red flower buds. Blooming on long straight branches dotted with both green and auburn-red tiny leaves.They have a light floral fragrance and are excellent when trimmed and cut for tall vases, floral installations or wedding work.   They bloom April - May.

  Branches with olive green leaves, are adorned with delicately ruffled light to hot pink blooms. Famous for their serene beauty, they're a favorite choice for Spring wedding work. They also look great alone in a tall vase. Lengths available 3' to 5'.Please reserve ahead of season.

  One of the first leaves to emerge in early Spring, 4-6 weeks BEFORE most other woody plants. As they bloom, they change from pale jade green and white to radiating pale blush, with deeper hues of blush at the tips. Absolutely gorgeous in Spring bouquets either in the green and white phase, but especially stunning when the tips are blush.

 The Seven Son bloom is known for its fragrant, nectar-rich flowers that bloom in late summer. The flowers are white and jasmine-like.

Blooms August - September

 One of our favorite flowering branch varieties, Long lilting branches packed with viburnum-like clusters of tight pink bloom buds with deep red-auburn leaves as accents. It can be cut in up to 4 foot long lengths.  Excellent for Spring wedding work, but still delicate enough that if cut short, can be used in bouquet and vase work. Excellently paired in vases with peonies.

 This short perennial shrub produces tiny pink pearl blooms that explode into tiny white 5-petaled blooms with yellow center. Short cuts make 'Yuki' an excellent choice for detail work, personal flowers, bouquets, styling and small table vases for home or events.Blooms end of April - May

  Massive 6-12″ chartreuse flowers that transform to pinkish-white, then white. They dry easily and stay true to form. Because of their size and shape, they're an excellent bloom to work with to tint to bring arrangements into whatever palette range you need. Fresh flowers begin blooming in mid-summer and continue into autumn.

Dried blooms available year-round 

 A member of the mint family. Can grow up to 3 feet tall. Lavender to violet blue flowers with tiny reddish-purple bracts. Lovely firm purple plumes. Great textural element for bouquets.

An exotic looking creature for the Midwest!

Sweetshrub is valued for the sweet, often fruity fragrance of its flowers. She produces sturdy blooms on the end of her branches, and when used as a cut flower, can last for a month or more. 

Blooms open in late April and continue to open from June into July. The main bloom is in May, with sporadic flowering on new growth occurring in midsummer

 Is there a cooler flower name than this? That's really the name. A member of the brassica family (broccoli most notably), she blooms on Arugula like stems with lilac purple blooms that are a lovely  wild element for bouquets and arrangements. Great texture and detail.

 Like a warm Hawaiian sunset, the colors of this lily are heavenly, but she is called a 'day lily' for a reason. She will be the most beautiful girl for one day. Excellent for floral needs with a 'Cinderella' quality (only one night/ day). Looks gorgeous in long-stemmed bunches.

Known for its luscious dark purple- red wine foliage and its beaming magenta pink flowers. The individual blooms are shaped like trumpets. We can cut up to 36". This gorgeous variety of Privet is so bright that it an incomparable contrast element to whatever it is paired with. Ideal for larger arrangements, statement pieces or larger tureen-style designs. Also looks beautiful by itself with 1/3 of the bottom foliage removed and in a tall vase.

 Long & luxurious, in cool hues of purple, Wisteria blooms are light enough to move with the breeze, and are a romantic addition to any wedding ceremony floral. They also are beautiful  in a vase. Incredibly sweet and fragrant.Blooms April-May  

 Forsythia branches are packed with blooms of abundant bright yellow flowers. Their long branches can be cut in lengths of up to 6 feet for use in floral installations,

Technically in the Spirea family, this lovely woody bush sends out long tiered branches of stacked purple-blue bloom clusters that begin as tight blue pods, that open to more of a cornflower blue. A lovely detailed element to add to an arrangement of bouquet. Sweetly fragranced.

Looks very similar to lavender but longer and woodier branches, with gray-green leaves, silvery-gray stems, and small purple-blue flowers that bloom in late summer. Has a very earthy 'sage' scent,

 Long after Wisteria's blooms have faded and fallen off, the brightly green leafed branches and their twirling vine tendrils are magical to work with for special events or any floral installation or design that needs an element of woodland magic.

 In addition to everything listed so far, it's just about this time in the season that all the annual varieties we've lovingly started from seeds the greenhouse in February, are starting to bloom in the field as well. Some are listed below, but the majority are not.

One of the cutest things we grown, long branches with little bunny rabbit looking tufts of grey. Whimsical and a delightful element on their own in a vase or as a textural feature for height. They're ready in March and can be cut in as long at 3 foot lengths. Dries beautifully true to form for dried arrangements. 

Ready beginning of March and hold for months  

Beautiful delicately-cut deep red foliage adds texture and detail to bouquets and larger botanical arrangements. Because it's a dwarf Maple variety, cuts longer than 2 feet aren't available. One of the first trees to bloom in late winter / early Spring.

A beautiful and lush element year-round. Excellent for Fall & holiday arrangements & bouquets. Fun fact:  the defining element of gin is the infusion of botanicals during the distillation process. Juniper berries are the key botanical that gives gin its distinct piney and aromatic flavor. Neat huh?

Mountain pines have cones that are much smaller than average cones. They only grow up to 5 cm long. An interesting fact about mountain pines is that when they first develop, they emerge a purple color. It is only when they mature that these pine cones turn to their characteristic brown color!

Short in length but not in color. Beautiful in Summer and Fall. They bloom in tiny pink firework explosions mid Summer. Blooms are less than 4 ". Fun little detail for bouquets, small arrangements and personal floral.

We grow every color imaginable. From pastels to bright, flatter center to tufted raised ball, they're a beautiful addition to simple arrangements. As a textural design element, we like to remove petals from certain varieties to use just the bright orange center as a standout detail piece in arrangements.

 The happiest face in the garden! Shasta daisies are great cut flowers because they can last for weeks in arrangements . Can be cut 8" - 10" long.

 We grow pink and blue. Delicate though they are, their long stems allow them to make dainty additions to simple bouquets, vase arrangements and personal floral (boutonnieres). If cut early, their papery pre-bloom hulls make a nice detail (similar to a poppy pod).Blooms in June

Bee balm (Monarda)  - We grow 4 different varieties / colors: hot pink, bright red, purple & Spotted (Baker's Creek stock). Delightfully whimsical & fragrant, they're the Dr. Seuss creation of the garden.

One of our garden favorites! Small, white, daisy-like flowers with bright yellow centers. They look very much like chamomile, only with sturdier stems. No country-girl style bouquet should be without these sweet little happy faces.

We grow several different colors and petal stripped varieties, in rust colored hues. We use them a lot for market bouquets, floral subscriptions and arrangements. Especially wonderful for Fall arrangements.

Another fresh-faced country girl! Different from her shorter daisy cousin (Shasta), Oxeye grows taller (up to an Oxe's eye). She can be cut in up to 2 and a half foot lengths.

 Another garden favorite! They range in size from 1" blooms up to 2.5". True to their name, they feel like straw to the touch. They hold beautifully and dry true to form, making them a fun flower to play with for craft projects as well as in arrangements.

 This is the classic "Queen Anne's Lace" of the floral trade (It's not actually the roadside version). She's actually the bloom of a wild carrot. Nonetheless, she is bright white, beautiful and symmetrical. Delicate looking but stand tall on a strong stem.

 Feathery plumes in every color! They add color, texture and detail to anything they're paired with and also dry well. Perfect in boutonnieres. White, yellow and blush varieties take tint well.
